Show t . DR. DEATH'S VIEWS ON VACCINATION. 2 - -- . . 0 BYDB.T. B. 2EATTY, v q ' . Secretary State Board of Health. " 0 ' I was not aware that a movement to secure legislation on the subject of compulsory vaccination was on foot and have great doubts as to its success until Utah has been taught even more severely than at present the fallacy of opposing the only known means of preventing smallpox. , Tet it has come to the knowledge of the State Board of Health that many people have profited by the object lesson of the past two years, and have become converts to vaccination.- But In Utah the mass of the people still adhere to the dangerous belief that vaccination does not prevent smallpox, and that it is a repulsive and deadly operation. I do not believe that thla ' attitude of the people can be changed at the present. The State will have ' to suffer and pay the price. The State Board of Health is ready at all . ' times to furnish information demonstrating the success and safety of vac- clnatlon, which are recognised to be beyond question by the majority of intelligent people. . X Reports from the health officers throughout the State Indicate that the sentiment In favor of vaccination continues to grow. . 00QQQ |
