Show City Briefs. The naval recruiting office yesterday sent twenty-two recruits to San Francisco Francis-co from Ogden. Some of them will go to the training school at Goat island from there, and the rest will be taken aboard the training ship Independence at the Mare island navy yard. m m John H. Powers, son of Dr. H. J. Powers Pow-ers of this city, was brought to his home from McOammon yesterday with one of his feet badly crushed. He was employed as a brakeman and was engaged In switching when the accident occurred. The attending physicians are of the opinion opin-ion that the foot can be saved. - The condition of George W.'Larkin, Sr., who has been very ill, is reported as more satisfactory. The Weber County Poultry association closed its annual exhibit Saturday evening. even-ing. The yeaV's exhibit was the most successful suc-cessful ever held, and showed a great increase in-crease of interest in the matter of breeding breed-ing fine poultry stock. The association is in good condition financially and looks forward to another poultry fair next year with anticipations of still greater success. |
