Show NO ONE FOLLOWS BODY OF CARROLL TO GRAVE The body of William J. Carroll, who killed himself last Thursday by cutting his throat while he was being tried in the Police court on a charge of using abusive language to his wife, was burled in a pauper's grave Sunday. Announcement was made that the funeral would be held Sunday after- noon at 3 o'clock, at the funeral chapel of Undertaker J. W. Taylor. The undertaker un-dertaker had been assured by a number num-ber of the former associates of the dead man that they did not wish to see him buried as a pauper, and that they would produce the money necessary for a decent funeral. The undertaker says that none of Carroll's friends fulfilled the promise to secure the means for a good burial, and after holding the funeral off as long as possible Carroll's body was put In a plain pine box and burled without religious ceremony. Neither Mrs. Carroll, her children, nor any of the former friends of the dead man was present at the funeral. |
