I don't know," she is quoted as having said; "I suppose I am getting 1 too old and would be in the way. Besides, Be-sides, he always has plenty of gay young females about him." ) With that the matter was dropped. At that time no hint of any divoroe proceedings had reached Mrs. Cody. The action of Cody is severely condemned con-demned here by men who have In years . gone by braved hardship and peril with him, and by others who have been lifelong life-long friends of the scout-showman. , "It's a measly trick and it won't do -him no good." This expression by on of the old-timers who discussed the news aptly expresses the opinion of Cody's conduct for many. The suit was filed at Cody, In this State, and the complaint,, after setting forth that he and the defendant intermarried inter-married at St Louis, Mo., in 1366, al- leges that the defendant has repeatedly since 1900 threatened to and did attempt at-tempt to poison him. In addition to this allegation, which la made to substantiate a charge of cruelty, a second cause of action la specified. It reads: That the marriage relations between plaintiff and defendant defend-ant are incompatible and Intolerable, for defendant without cause or provocation provo-cation on the part of plaintiff, has at divers times driven plaintiff from his former home In North Platte, Neb., and has at divers times refused to let plaintiff plain-tiff bring his friends and guests to said former home; and many times when ' plaintiff has taken his friends and guests to said former home defendant would make ft so unpleasant for him and his guests tbat they were forced to leave the house.
