Show LEGION AUXILIARY I MET WEDNESDAY Regular meeting of the Amor- ' i lean Legion auxiliary was held ; I Wednesday evening at the Civic j Center with Mrs. Ross Hocking ! presiding. Time was devoted to i hearing reports of various chairmen chair-men and plans made for projects for the balance of the year. Reports Re-ports on the presidents' and secretaries' sec-retaries' conference in Salt Lake j City December 10 and 11 were given by Mrs. L. L. Watson and ; Mrs. J. Dewey Knudsen. Mrs. Knudsen reported on the ' Christmas program for the Veterans' Vet-erans' hospital in Salt Lake City. ! Ten beautifully-wrapped Christ-j Christ-j mas gifts for World War I veterans vet-erans and a collection of games, i etc . three nounds of chocolates and two album records and $3 for purchase of occupational therapy material were delivered by Mrs. Knudsen to department rehabilitation chairman, Mrs. Madeline Swanner. Also materials mater-ials gathered in Bingham for the therapy project. Mrs. Hocking appointed Mrs. Knudsen chairman chair-man for a program to be taken to the Veterans hospital January Janu-ary 19. Another Christmas project which was carried out by Mrs. Mike Brisk, the sale of handmade hand-made Christmas stamp and bond felders, netted organization funds which will be used as war stamp fund. Mrs. E. G. Ball reported on af-ghman af-ghman and sweater project, whereby these articles are being made for the Veterans hospital. Letters from many soldiers was read by the rehabilitation chairman, who stated that the list of boys receiving monthly letters now totals 45. Miss Mar-jorie Mar-jorie Brimhall, an auxiliary member who recently joined the WAVES and is awaiting call, received re-ceived a gift from the auxiliary, presented by Mrs. Brisk. A vote of thanks was given students of Joel P. Jensen for the Christmas Christ-mas Eve program they took to , Kearns. American Legion post No. 30 gave Victory Flag society the money for the January letter. j Auxiliary members are cooperating cooperat-ing with Chicago Charlie Zahos , by selling chances on the linen hand-embroidered towel sent by Sgt. John Holmes from England. Seventeen auxiliary members were served refreshments bv Mrs. L. L. Watson, Mrs. Gust Alexion and Mrs. Knudsen. Wat-stamp Wat-stamp prizes went to Mrs. Mike Zampos, Mrs. W. T. Allmark and Mrs. Ball. |
