Show COUNCILMEN GIVEN PROPOSITIONS Assignments of duties to city eouncilmen for 1945 were made at Wednesday evening's meeting by Mayor R. A. Murano as for lows: Harvey Wolfe, fire department, depart-ment, public relations and pub-I pub-I licity; Francis J. Quinn, street; Anast J. Chipian, health; Ross M. Cushing, water; C. L. Johnson, John-son, buildings and youth welfare. wel-fare. Mayor Murano directs pub lie welfare activities. Reports of properly damage during night hours at the City hall recently were discussed-Councilmen discussed-Councilmen ordered the custodian custod-ian to keep the building locked from 9 p.m. until 9 a.m. each day to prevent further acts of vandalism van-dalism to the building, equip ment and furnishings. Representing directors of the 'Teen Age club, Earl T. James and Bob Jimas asked the city for a partition in the hallway of the third floor to cut down draughts and aid in keeping dancing and game rooms uniformly uni-formly heated. The councilmen approved the proposal and will pay for materials and labor. An allowance of $25 per month was made the 'Teen club. Applications for beer licenses were approved for Diamond Inn. Copper Gate, Carr Fork Bar. Copper King and Pastime Bar. Bills amounting to $781.62 were approved for payment by City Treasurer Alvin Hall- "N |
