) NOTORIOUS WOMAN DIES Era Kay-Hamilton, Who Hoodwinked .Son of Famous General, Dead. NEW YORK, Dec. 7, A woman believed be-lieved to have been Eva Kay Hamilton, vho in 1889 hoodwinked Into marriage Itobert Ray Hamilton, son of Gen. Schuyler Hamilton and descendant of Alexander Hamilton, died a few days ago in a charity ward of -St. Vincent's hospital. Her identity has Just been learned. When the wedding became known Hamilton was a member of the Legislature Legis-lature and was believed to have a brilliant bril-liant future la politics. v In the course of a quarrel In their puntry home a few months later Mrs. jiamllton stabbed a nurse, for which she was sentenced to two years in the Trenton penitentiary. Hamilton be- J gan an Investigation, which showed lbs Woman's connection with a band of blackmailers, and that she had a husband living. ' . His marriage was at once dissolved, he abandoned his career In this city, and sought forgetfulness on a Wyoming Wyo-ming ranch. In 1S91 he was reported to have been drowned while fording the Bnake river, but his partner was arrested ar-rested on the charge of murder, and ' afterward sent to an insane asylum. The woman . disappeared, and the case , had been almost forgotten when . her death, due largely to dissipation, ' was reported.
