Show The morning: call on the stock exchanre today recorded the sale of 21,815 shares for a total of $f6,228. Trading was brisk and prices generally were fluctuating. fluc-tuating. Lower Mammoth slid down to 12 cents. Eagle ft Blue Bell went to 88 cents, and Daly West dropped to $42.95, with a sale of C5 shares. Wabash was a little stronger, going up to 24 cents, while Sacramento Jumped to 28 cents, with a sale of 6000 shares. Little Bell released 100 at 82.90, and followed fol-lowed with 400 at 83.25. May Day got 15 cents for 6000 shares, and Martha Washington Wash-ington dropped 4000 at 3 cents, 1000 going for 34 cents. Total sales, 1.816 shares at $26,228.00. BIO STRIKE EXPORTED IN WHEELER, ft WILSON MINE. An Important strike is reported by W. C. Tracy, manager of the Wheeler ft Wilson mine in Big Cottonwood canyon, who came to the city yesterday with a number of samples showing 30 per cent lead, 31 ounces silver and $1 in gold. The strike was made in the tunnel, which is only 130 feet deep, but it tapped the ore body at a depth of 1000 feet. Manager Tracy says stoplng operations opera-tions will be started soon and expects the mine to make a regulr output from now on. . . - CONSTRUCTION OF MILL TO BEGIN NEXT WEEX. Henry Harker, treasurer of the Gold Dust Mining company, will leave this week for that Idaho property to superintend super-intend the work of constructing the mill. It is the intention of the management manage-ment to push the work on the plant to , a rapid conclusion. Another big improvement im-provement planned for the Gold Dust is a sawmill, where all the timbers for the mine will be sawed. The concentrator and the sawmill will be put in at once and the power plant will follow soon after. OPERATIONS TO RESUME ON j COPPER. BELT AND LUCY. The Wilson brothers, owners of the Copper Belt . and the Lucy L., in Deep Creek, are making preparations to begin be-gin operations on both their properties within the next few daysv Frank Wilson Wil-son says it Is their intention to push development vigorously during the summer, particularly on the Lucy L, Both mines have shown good values in copper and gold. GODBE CYANIDE COMPANY FORMED I The Godbe Agitation Cyanide Process company filed articles of Incorporation this afternoon. The pnrpoee of the organization is the promotion and introduction of the new cyanide treatment of ore invented by E. L. Godbe, who is the president of the company. With the inventor are associated L. E. Werthelmer ani A. II. Godbe. MINING NOTES. Acqullla Nebeker has returned from his properties in Mexico. . The ore and bullion settlements yesterday yes-terday amounted to $58,571. The Conklin sampler received three cars of ore from Eureka today. t Charles Crlsmon, the assayer, left this morning for the Utah mine at Fish Springs. The Star Consolidated marketed two cars of ore yesterday, and two more are expected today. The Consolidated Mercur's regular dividend of 2 cents per share will be handed out May 9th. The Cactus tunnel on the Newhouse property near Mllford is progressing at the rate of twenty feet a dayi The Taylor ft Brunton sampler received re-ceived a total of sixteen cars today, ten from Tintlc and six from Stockton. Another gold brick valued at 83300 was brought down from the Century mill by President Madsen yesterday. A lot of 2500 pounds of slimes Is coming com-ing from the Dexter, in Nevada, upon which an experiment run will be made by the Moore plant. An attempt on the part of the Armour interests to unload part of their holding- of May wheat on the market todav resulted in a decline in that delivery of 34 cents within less than an hour. At the first in ti nation that the leading long was endeavoring to dispose of some of his surplus stock selling orders came Into the pit from all quarters, the crowd having been watching for such a move for the past week or more, and the price dropped so suddenly that many brokers bro-kers were unable to execute stop-loss orders or-ders until the price had declined 1 and 2 cents below the point st which they had orders to sell. The opening on May was a shade to 4&4c higher at 7843784c and prices gradually advanced until 79 cents was reached, there being a good commission-house demand. About noon the leader lead-er of the bull movement started to sell and the price broke precipitately, dropping drop-ping to 754c within a short time. The recovery re-covery was equally as rapid, however, the price advancing fro-n 75 to 77c in about two minutes and the market steadied around 774c.
