' BUDAPEST. Hungary, Dec. 14. The lower house of the Hungarian Parliament Parlia-ment opened today In perfect calm. The royal rescript convoking the Diet was listened to attentively and the nous thereafter adjourned, without the least attempt on the part of the opposition to renew the rioting of yesterday. The orderliness of the proceedings was attributed to the absence of President Presi-dent Perszel and his parliamentary bodyguard, who yesterday were driven from the house. Had these been present pres-ent undoubtedly there would have been repetitions of yesterday's scenes. In House at 6:30. The Opposition under the leadership of Count Apponyl and Francis Kossuth, Kos-suth, took possession of the house as early at 6:30 in consequence of the ru-ir.or ru-ir.or that the Government proposed a sitting at 7 a, m. The Deputies took up a strong position on the president's platform prepared to repel any attempt of the guards to dispossess them. The latter, however, made no effort to enter the house and on the assurances of Count Andrassy that President Percsel would not preside and that the guards would not enter the house the platform was cleared. All Armchairs Destroyed. Premier Tlsza and the members of his Cabinet entered about 10 o'clock and occupied the front bench, as all the Ministerial armchairs had been destroyed. de-stroyed.
