Show BASEBALL A SURE GO Salt Lake and Osdcn'Put Up Forfeits for 1 the Season. The Ogden and Salt Lake baseball league is a sure go. The closing arrangements ar-rangements were made yesterday and the following- agreement entered Into by the representatives of the two cities tells the story: "Agreement made this twenty-eighth day of April, 1903. between the Ogden Baseball club and the Salt Lake Athletic and Baseball club witnesseth: "First John S. Crltchlow shall be president presi-dent of said league and shall have power to make all rules and regulations not herein provided for, and to enforce the same, together with the terms of this agreement.. "Second-Each club hereby deposits with said president 2500. to be.held by him as a forfeit that each of said clubs shall comply with this agreement and all rules and regulations such president may adopt. Each club reserves the risht to withdraw herefrom and from this league after July 4th. upon giving ten days' written writ-ten notice to the other, and then both clubs shall have returned, to them said moneys, or so much thereof which shall not have been by sala president declared forfeited to the other "Third The season shall commence at Salt Lake on May 8th, and the parties hereto agree that they will agree upon a schedule of games to be played hereunder within the next ten days, and in the event they are unable to so agree, said president hnll act as umpire between them. "For Ogden: G. U BECKER. "For Salt Lake: L. R. ROGERS." The Ogden club will be managed by William Blnford, a gentleman in whom the local sports have much conlldence, and John F. Critchlow as president of the league Is a selection that could not be bettered. The clubs will now throw out their wires for players. The local team will play a game Saturday with the Fort j Douglas team, although the line-up will : be far from complete. |
