Show MOYLE AGAIN AT HEAD OF THE BOARD The first meeting of the new Board of Education was held Friday night. By a unanimous vote Oscar W. Moyle was re-elected president and will announce an-nounce his committees In a few days. The Rev. Elmer I. Goshen appeared before the board and explained the work done by the free night school. He ottered to turn it over to the control of the board. The school was established by Mr. Goshen a few weeks ago and now has an attendance of more than 200 pupils, ranging In age from 9 to 35 years. Of this number fifteen are girls. He explained that it would not take more than $100 a month to maintain the school and It would give a large number num-ber of working people a chance. to secure se-cure an education. The matter was referred re-ferred to a special committee of three, who will report at the next meeting of the board. It was decided by the board to establish estab-lish a free kindergarten in the Thirteenth Thir-teenth ward annex. Resolutions of confidence con-fidence In the three members of the board who had just retired were passed by a unanimous vote. Payrolls to the amount of $24,481.23 were approved. A resolution was passed that all ballots, with the exception ex-ception of those of the last election, should be destroyed. |
