President Roosevelt has invited a number of Re- ' publican Senators and Representatives to a conference at the White House Saturday Satur-day afternoon. 'An effort will be made at the conference confer-ence to harmonise differences which may 1 have arisen among the Republicans ss to the nature of the legislation to be en? acted at the present session, and to secure, se-cure, if possible, unsnlmlty of action regarding re-garding legislation in the future. It Is indicated that the conference may take I a wide scope. . - An effort has been made In Congress by Speaker Cannon and the members of - the 8enat Committee on Appropriations to call down all appropriations to be : passed at the present session. This has aroused some antagonism among Sena- tors and Representatives who are Interested Inter-ested In appropriations for river and harbor har-bor improvements, for public buildings, I and for the extension of the navy. It is expected that these differences will be . threshed out at the conference to be held tomorrow. ..... . It Is suggested that legislation regard. ting the proposed Increase of ths powers of the Interstate Commerce commission. ? the tariff and the Federal Incorporation of companies, doing an Interstate business busi-ness will be considered.
