The election com- , mlssloners of Denver late last night refused re-fused to turn over to the legislative committee of fifteen, appointed yesterday, yester-day, any of the ballot boxes In their possession. This morning Attorney John M. Wal-dron, Wal-dron, representing the committee, applied ap-plied to the Supreme court for an order on the commissioners directing them to surrender to the committee certain ballot bal-lot boxes. Senator T. M. Patterson, appearing ap-pearing for the commissioners, requested request-ed until 10 o'clock Monday morning to answer the petition. He was given until un-til 2 O'clock this afternoon. During the debate the argument between the two attorneys became so heated that Chief Justice Gabbert directed a bailiff to get between the two men, who stood face to face, arguing fiercely. "It you two men cannot act as attorneys attor-neys and gentlemen should," said Chief Justice Gabbert. ."we will not hear either eith-er of you."
