Show LADRONES REAPPEAR IN RIZAL PROVINCE Detachment of Constables Captured, but Succeed in Making Their Escape. MANILA, Feb. 23 A force of ladrones under Gen. Miguel, reappeared in Rizal province Saturday. They avoided an engagement with, the main force in the south, but captured three small detachments de-tachments of constabulary. The enemy ene-my surrounded the towns of Cainta and Taytay, eleven miles east f Manila, Saturday, and captured several scouts and ten men of the constabulary whom they set free. Sunday Inspector Mcllwalne, at the head of the constabulary, was surprised and captured near Montalban, sixteen miles northeast of Manila. The la-drones la-drones promised to release them if the constabulary would surrender their arms. While, they were conferring on this point, Mcllwalne made a dash for liberty, and he and ail the constabulary effected their escape. It is said that Gen. San Miguel's force consists of 300 men, armed and uniformed. The rone of ladrone activity ac-tivity extends from Caloocan, four miles north of Manila, eastward to the mountains and skirting the north. According to news from Albay, Lu-son, Lu-son, a force of ladrones attacked a mall detachment of constabulary Friday. Fri-day. The constabulary retreated, but killed eleven of the enemy. Two of1 the constabulary were killed. |
