Show $20,000 FOR MORMONS Church Gains Small Fortune For-tune by Decision of the Federal Court The United States District court this morning allowed the plea of the defendants de-fendants in bar In the case of William V. Staines vs. Robert T. .Burton, sole surviving executor of the estate of William Wil-liam Carter Staines and William B. Preston, presiding bishop of the Mormon Mor-mon church, and In so deciding gave to the Mormon church $20,000 that was involved in the suit. In the case of the United States vs. Louis Jones, who was on trial on a charge of stealing $10 from the postal authorities on August 21st, of last year, the defendant pleaded guilfy to the charge and sentence was suspended. Edward Mullin entered a plea of not guilty to a charge of breaking into the Springville postoffice on October 6th. No date for his trial was set. |
