Show WILLIAMS 2XAY LEAD DEMOCRATS EST CONGRESS. WASHINGTON, April 28. The Democrats Demo-crats in the national Rouse of Representatives Repre-sentatives will soon have to look for a new leader, the Hon. James D. Richardson Rich-ardson of Tennessee having announced his withdrawal from politic at a banquet ban-quet of Scottish Rite Masons the other evening. He says he will devote the rest of hi life to Masonry, la which order or-der ha is grand commander of th supreme council, thirty-third degree. He has been elected to th Fifty-eighth Fifty-eighth Congress and It Is presumed h will serve out his term, though it la doubtful If be can be leader of th minority even If he want to be during this Congress, the Democrats having been generally dissatisfied with hi management. John S Williams of Mississippi is slated for tha position of leader of the minority .and it Is believed be-lieved he will be chosen without much opposition, though Champ Clark has considerable support for th coveted Jionof. |
