Show FORGER SENTENCED ON TWO COUNTS John R. Masters, charged with for-Very for-Very in two separata inforrruitlona, waa arraigned in tha District court this morning at4 upon entering pleas of guilty to both rhargea, waa sentenced to two yeara tn tha penitentiary by Judge' Morse, Tha first Information read by the clerk of tha court alleged that on March 27, 1003, tha defendant paaaed a bogus check upon the First National hank for 110. The check was mad payable to J. E. Hmlth, which name waa forged ti the paper. The defendant pleaded guilty and the sentence of the court waa one year in the Htate'e prtaon at hard labor. Tha second Information charged that on the aama date, March 17th, tha defendant de-fendant forged a chock, payable to Hmlth for 120. To thla charge tha da-fendant da-fendant also entered a plea of guilty and Judge Moras pronounced eentenca upon tha rrlaoner, giving another year In the penitentiary, the second etmtence to take effect after tho expiration nf tha first, Mnstera hud nothing to say In his own behalf. |
