' The graduating class of St. Mary's academy held Its exercises yesterday afternoon and seven graduate received re-ceived their diplomas and medals.-: medals.-: Those who completed ' the academic course were the Misses Edna -Clark, Ethel McDonald, Juanlta Miller, Maud McDonough and Martha Plumhof of Salt Lake and. Miss Maud Nlssler 6f ! Butte. The graduate from the conservatory conser-vatory of music was Miss Edna Egan. The six essays, three In meter and three In prose were of a high order, showing that the graduate had received re-ceived careful training and possessed no little talent. ' Miss Miller's subject ' was " "Nature's Magic," showing the wonderful transformations trans-formations In nature's workshop, while Miss McDonald's theme was "An Uncommon- Sense" the sense of humor, which was cleverly handled. Miss Nlssler of Butte was the rvale .dlctorlan. She gave a feeling and kind- 1 ly farewell to the class and paid a beautiful tribute to the late sister superior. su-perior. I .-, '..I' Miss McDonough's "Gospel of Here and Now" was the first of the metrical essays. It w-as on the duty of performing perform-ing each task as It comes. "The Song of te Wasatch" by Miss Clark was a clever effort, while Miss Plumhof's "Deus et Patria" was a patriotlo poem of strong thought ! , "Home, Sweet Home" was delightfully delight-fully rendered by Miss Egan on the harp, -and later she gava the Gounod-Roff Gounod-Roff "Valse de Juliette" on the piano.
