' 2j Ripe 'straw-berries 'straw-berries from an outdoor gardes ia mid-Xo-r ember are the latest freak of Colorado's wonderful climate. After serersl hard snow and considerable cold weather there ia at least ane strawberry patch ia the State which is flourishing as though it were spring, instead in-stead of late autumn. R. B. Yard of 873 Gilpin street brought to Deorar a living strawberry plant which be secured from the premises of the Quick Lumber Lum-ber company, a mile east of Golden. The plant contained two perfectly developed strawberries, one et them 4uite ripe and another an-other n earing ripeness. There were alto sereral berries in the process of development. Strawberries growing at this time of the year are a novelty that no one remembers hearing of before. 1 |
