Show COLUMBUS PROMISING. ... Manager Tony Jacobson has Just returned re-turned from an Inspection of the Columbus Co-lumbus Consolidated properties, at Alta, and reports everything at the camp and mine In splendid condition. At the mine the ore In the drift tl the 300 level below the tunnel afteijbelng exposed fourteen feet across the face, of the ledge was left, while the men went back to the bottom of the shaft to cut a larger station that will permit of the handling of the mine cars and the hoisting of a large tonnage as soon as the signal is given for the forwarding of the product In the meantime the mill is handling the usual tonnage of copper concentrates, concen-trates, which carries nice values In silver, sil-ver, and the force of men on the upper levels are mining a good tonnage of crude ore that is being sent to the sampler at Sandy. There has accumulated a large tonnage ton-nage of both classes of ore during the winter months, and there are now employed em-ployed between forty and fifty four-horse four-horse teams hauling the product to the station down the canyon at Sandy. The average tonnage being marketed is sixty tons dally, and when more room is provided for the men to work advantageously in the mine there will be no less than 200,000 tons of ore forwarded for-warded each month. In discussing the probability of dividends, divi-dends, Manager Jacobson said that he thought the policy of the company would be to first build up a large surplus sur-plus before the question of making distributions among the shareholders would be considered. That there will be some money to be passed around before the year draws to a close, he had not the slightest doubt, as it is planned to have everything in readiness readi-ness for the extraction of an increased tonnage about the first of July, and assuredly not later than August . The management will probably start an incline shaft down from the 300-foot 300-foot level in the ledge matter within a few weeks, and open up the deposit de-posit to greater depth. This will give the shareholders some idea of the extent of the ore, and they can then form for themselves a conclusion of what their holdings are worth. ORE SHIPMENTS.
