Show FORBIDDEN TO ACCEPT GIFTS Employees of United States Steel Company Must Not Take Presents From Any Other Corporation. NEW YORK. June 22. The United States Steel corporation has sent out an order to its vast army of employees forbidding for-bidding any officer or employee of any of the companies owned or controlled by the steel corporation, under pain of instant in-stant dismissal, to accept any present, whether it be for Christinas, a wedding, a birthday, or any other pretext, coming from any person or corporation doing business with subsidiary companies of the corporation or the corporation itself. Officers and employees are forbidden to accept stock in any such concern as a reward for services rendered, or to be rendered, and the ownership of such stock will have to be satisfactorily explained ex-plained to the directors. This order is the outgrowth of the disclosures dis-closures made in the investigation hy i the Interstate Commission of Railroads. |
