Is it likely that we will have to intervene inter-vene again in a few years t Did not the real causes of this rebellion and the events leading up to it lie in "the character of the .Cuban people!" There is hardly a doubt but what all of that will be.realized. There is a large proportion of the Cuban people who prefer rebellion to earning an honest living. . "Whatever government is there will have to hold these people in check. It would be a good thing to annex Cuba to Mexico, and let old man 'Diaz handle affairs there "as he handled them in Mexico, until these people rtalize that it is a dangerous experiment" ex-periment" to organize a rebellion against &e" Government. |
