Show . Put Salt Lake Out in the Sunlight. t 1 ii ' ... j One more boost like that Salt Lake received last November will "place the city well past the three-quarter .'post in the race for metropolitan honors. : . That American victory last November proved to the outside world that one great gap had been punched in the wall that had almost separated Salt Lake from the rest of the world. Another victory this November will prove to the investors in-vestors on the outside who have been watching developments in Utah, that the - great wall of old has been smashed to smithereens, and that from now on every citizen of Utah and every investor will receive the same protection. . ; Men on the outside will understand that no influence , favors leaders of one - clique and protects their interests to the exclusion of .men who do not possess that influence. Every Mormon, every Gentile that intends to live here is deeply interested in this proposition. A Greater Salt Lake means as much to the Mormon as to the Gentile. Another American victory will serve notice on the investors and people outside out-side of Utah that the great wall has been smashed for all time to come, and that the ghost that has haunted Salt Lake is no more. Such a notice properly served would put Salt Lake forward ten years. We have started the ball, arid now since we have things moving, keep the ball rolling. More money has been invested in Salt Lake, in the last two years than during any ten years in the city's history. The real reason for this fs that . a rift has been made in the dense clouds that have darkened Salt Lake. One more fine victory will bring us out in the sunlight.
