Show NO CONFERENCE DATE IS FIXED Cool Operators Awaiting Strike Developments; Dealers Raise Prices, " NEW YORK, March ; 28. George . F. Baer, chairman of the anthracite operators' opera-tors' committee of seven,' came to New York yesterday and had a conference with President E. B. Thomas , of the Lehigh Valley railroad. No meeting of th operators committee was held "I have received a letter from President Presi-dent Mitchell of the United Mine-Workers." said Mr.-Baer. "in whfch he says that, he cannot at present fix a date for the conference with our committee, which he has asked for." Mr. Baer said that the operators were waiting for developments, and could make no predictions as to what ' might happen. For the first time since the strike scare began the price of domestic coal Was raised yesterday by the dealers, it only affected red ash coal, which was raised from 86.50 to 86.75 a ton. |
