Show STRONG SERMON ON HERETICS BY EDDY Rev. Frank Fay Eddy of the Unitarian church preached on heretics yesterday to a large congregation. "Glory be to God for Heretics" was the theme, and the text was taken from Mark iv., 13: "And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released re-leased Barrabas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified. " The sermon's thought was that Jesus was, in the Illustration of the text, a heretic, and that he was for this reason delivered to the condemnation of his age. "The history of heresy Is In one respect the history of rutlonalltim; in another the history of the mental and spiritual emancipation eman-cipation of the race." said Mr. Kddy. "livery man who seeks Independence and distinctive individuality must, In a measure, meas-ure, attain the point of view of the heretic. here-tic. He must at any cost preserve the veracity ve-racity of his own soul: he must be faith- 1 ful to his own conscience in the light of the knowledge that is his, whatever the cost may be." |
