Show PARADE HIGHLIGHTS According to the committee in Charge, Harold W. Nielsen, Joel P. Jensen and Elmo A. Nelson, j more than 32 floats added color : to the parade which was the j main attraction Friday. The par-iade par-iade got off to a good start with i the American Legion color guard leading. Dr. R. G. Frazier and ( John Louis Matthews, dressed as frontier marshalls followed. The Bingham Junior Chamber Uoat, an oldtime wagon carrying carry-ing Beth Cowdell, Miss Galena; Syblc Archibald, Princess Silver; ' and Adela Salazar, Princess Copper, Cop-per, was followed by the Bingham Bing-ham high school band. Dr. F. E. Sraup, dressed as a doctor of 50 years ago, received re-ceived honorable mention in the historical division. He was followed by the Minerette club. Next in line came Mayor R. A. Murano, followed by the city council. Highland Buy school sponsored sponsor-ed two floats. One was "The Prospector's Pros-pector's Dream" and the other was a float that had flags representing repre-senting all nations. The Prospector's Prospec-tor's Dream received honorable mention in the unique division. A train and car entered by the Copperfield school was followed by the Copperton grade school band. Land of Liberty and a miniature minia-ture white float representing Miss Galena and her aids were the two floats entered by the Cop- j perton school. The miniature Miss Galena float received hon-j orable mention in the unique di-1 vision and the Land of Liberty float received honorable men-I men-I tion in the patriotic division-Bingham division-Bingham Central school second sec-ond grade entered a Tin Type and the sixth grade entered a Jig. They placed second and third, respectively in the historical his-torical division. The Union Junior high school band was followed by the Bingham Fire department which had the inscription in-scription 1905-1945. Unity and World Peace, entered enter-ed by Lark school placed second in the patriotic division. It was followed by the Sandy Junior high school band. Bingham Central fourth grade entered "A Prospector Mining for Ore". Bingham LDS ward entered en-tered a miniature hospital which placed second in the unique division. di-vision. Bingham District Athletic association showed the value of sports. The float entered by the International In-ternational Association of Machinists Ma-chinists placed first in the motor mo-tor driven division. It was followed fol-lowed by the Old Fashioned Well, sponsored by Bingham Merc. It placed third in the unique division. Bingham Central band was followed by the Jay-C-Ette float Mr- and Mrs. America. It placed third in the patriotic division. Then came the Draper Junior high school band. Overseas Letters and Packages was the theme used by Bingham post office. It placed first in the patriotic division. The drawings on the float were made by Marian Mar-ian Hull. The first grade of Bingham Central school entered an Old Woman Who Lived In a Shoe. Utah Power and Light company entered Reddy Kilowatt riding a donkey. A 1923 model Ford driven by C. A. Morley and accompanied by Mrs. Morley, placed second in the motor driven division. The Lark LDS ward entered a replica of the Lark mine which placed first in the historical division- The Midvale junior high school band was followed by a beautiful beauti-ful pink and green float, representing repre-senting the 94th anniversary of the Ruth Rebekah lodge. Gone and Not . Forgotten, the first house in Bingham was the theme of the Civic club float. It was followed by the Copperton Study Guild float which was a symbol of a lamp. The Copperton Girl Scouts followed in superb form. The J. C. Penney entry, a pink and orchid little old fashioned fash-ioned girl won first place in the unique division. Pioneering for Peace was the entry of the Community Methodist church. It was followed by the Galena lodge float. Old Way and New Way of Mining. The West Jordan Jor-dan junior high school band followed. The judges for the four principal prin-cipal divisions were Mrs. Ed W. Johnson. Miss Alta Miller, Asst. Supt.
