Cutler reappointed the commission this 4 morning, and the organisation will operate ope-rate under the old law. After the members mem-bers were reappointed the oath f office was again administered. By reorganising, the commission can operate under the old law, which will allow al-low them about $10,000. With this it is thought the commission can get "along until the new law goes into effect May 9. when $30,000 will be available. . me matter was brought to the attention atten-tion of the commission yesterday when Treasurer Rudolph Kuchler presented a requisition for $5000 on State Auditor Edwards. Ed-wards. The Auditor refused to honor the requisition until the point had been definitely defi-nitely settled as to whether the commission commis-sion was authorised to use the funds. 1 On account of the illness of Willis Johnson, the St. Louis Exposition commission com-mission did not meet the Lewis and Clark commission this morning. The commission took' up the discussion of unfinished business at Its meeting this morning.- Plans were also discussed for the visit of the commission to Portland next week. |
