Show ELKS PLANNING TRIP TO DENVER First Meeting of the Committee Held; Many Will Attend. The initial meeting of the general committee appointed by the local Elks last Wednesday night, to formulate plans for a great attendance of local Elks at the annual reunion to be held at Denver next August, was held at the clubrooms yesterday at 12 o'clock noon. The entlie committee was present and great interest developed during the-meeting. the-meeting. The membra of the committee commit-tee are P. J. Donahue, chalrmun, and B. F. Redman, Gordon H. Place, E. Q. Brown and W. J. Barnett. I The sense of the committee at the 'meeting was to take any steps that may be necessary to secure a record-breaking record-breaking attendance at the convention. A. W. Kaybould, secretary of the lodge, and ex-offlclo secretary of the committee, commit-tee, was Instructed to secure rates In Denver hotels for a club of from 100 to 200, which will go from here. During the discussion of proposed measures to Insure a large membership in the Denver club, It was suggested that the Greater Salt Lake Idea be carried out and that the club go as a' body of ministers who will preach the gospel of Salt Lake's development and prospects for the future to the thousands thou-sands who will attend the convention. The committee will meet at the clubhouse next Sunday at U o'clock noon to report progress and suggest other measures. |
