Show THANKSGIVING IS PROCLAIMED Gov. Cutler Calls for Observance Ob-servance on Thursday, November 30. A proclamation was issued this morning by Gov. Cutler setting aside Thursday. November 30, as Thanksgiving day. The proclamation read as follows: "The President of' the United State has proclaimed Thursday, November 30, A. D. 1906. for observance as a day of thanksgiving thanks-giving and prayer for all the people of this country. "His appeal .to the Nation to pray God for the preservation and perpetuity of the government will find, fervent response with the patriotic citizenship of Utah. The people of this commonwealth have special reasons for rendering sincere thanks unto the Most High for the many blessings of the past year. Ths year has been one of general p roe parity in the various va-rious industries of life, thus adding largely large-ly to our population and permanent wealth; the peoplo have enjoyed health, peace and contentment. "In harmony with the proclamation of the President of the United States. In conformity with honored custom, and by authority of law. 1. John C. Cutler. Governor Gov-ernor of the State of Utah, set apart and designate Thursday. November 3u, 1906, as a day of thanksgiving and prayer. On that day I earnestly request thnt public and private business be suspended ; that the State institutions and public schools close, and that the people assemble in their places of public worship and about their family altars. and give thanks to Almighty God for His manifold mercies and blessings In the past and for H1 divine di-vine guidance In all the duties and responsibilities re-sponsibilities of life which await them in the future.
