Show HAWORTH WILL GET HEARING FOR PARDON .The Board of Pardons at Its regular monthly meeting held this morning In the rooms of the Supreme court decided to commute the sentence of Warren Jones, now serving in the Carbon'county Jail for Involuntary manslaughter. The board decided de-cided to pardon Jones May 1. The application of Nathan F. Haworth for a pardon wax continued one month. Justice Straup asked that he be excused from sitting on the application, as he was a member of the law firm that defended de-fended Haworth. As Chief Justice Barti-h was not present, the case was continued. It Is said that Haworth's counsel. A. J. Weber, has secured additional evidence to prove an alibi for the convicted man. Haworth was convicted of murdering Thomas Sandall at Lay ton, Utah, on March 28. 1&99. He was sentenced to death, but the Board of . Pardons later commuted the sentence.
