Resolutions X touching the questions of the true family life and other subjects have been adopted adopt-ed by the National Council of Women la executive session. Its first nurture received, ' should "toe the object, the solicitude and the endeavor of every man and every woman who loves humanity and would serve It. , ' Also beneving that the home can be perfected per-fected only In a society which requires equal - personal chastity of men and women, and confers con-fers equal responsibility upon both: therefore, there-fore, be tt Resolved, That the National Council of Women Wo-men of the United States rejoices in the organization or-ganization at Its fifth triennial of two committees com-mittees which will for as their endeavors upon equal political liberty of women with men, and eqnai personal purity of- men with women.' wo-men.' Further believing that what Is peculiarly needed to saevre true family life is far more of plain living and high thinking on the part of the more privileged, and a deeper- aenee of responsibility on the part, of every cltl- - sen. be It further s Resolved, That In arorking for these conditions condi-tions the National Council of Women shall keep la mind that the safety and the stability of the home,' of society and of the state are principally dependent upon the character of their Individual members. The council also passed a resolution "extolling the memory of Mrs. . Leland Stanford. The resolution speaks of the unparalleled respect paid Mrs. Stanford et her death and says this waa "Justified "Justi-fied by this woman's life, whose habitual habit-ual prudence, .philanthropic service and! ideal fidelity has lifted the standard of public expectation of womanhood in respect re-spect to these qualities." . |
