Show WAUGH LEE DOES SHERLOCK HOLMES ACT A Chinese Sherlock Holmes, Waugh Lee, visited the Police department Saturday Sat-urday morning with a complaint and asked for the arrest of a number of boys who have been committing various va-rious depredations at his laundry during dur-ing the last three weeks. He said he had been bothered from time to tlm by a crowd of boys ranging rang-ing in age from 12 to 16 years, who congregate on the corner near his laundry, laun-dry, 308 South West Temple street. He said that the boys disturb his devotions, devo-tions, throw rocks at the doors and windows, and make general nuisances of themselves. "Me no catch-um boys fllrst time they come,' he said. "Me watchee flom behind be-hind billbo'd. an' me see-um boys thlow stlones at house. Me see-um lun away, and me chause-um home. , Me take-un p'leece to house. Me wknt-um allested." Waugh Lee was told to tell his story to City Prosecutor "Dave" Wllley, who, he' was told, would issue a complaint for the arrest of the boys. Waugh Lee hid his hands in the sleeves of his flowing flow-ing gown and shuffled up the street towards to-wards the Prosecutor's office. |
