SHIP I IS SUNK UNK IN C COLLISION ION PORTLAND Ore Sept 1 AP The steamer Floridian of the American Hawaiian Steamship company was tonight sunk in a collision with with- the Admiral line freighter Admiral Fiske sixty five miles south of light which is off the coast of northwestern Washington The crew of the Floridian forty forty- three men were picked up by the Admiral Fiske which also had her stem damaged and was leaking slightly but reported that no assistance assistance assist assist- ance was necessary and that she would be able to reach Seattle for which port she headed after the col- col News or of the collision was received re- re in wireless messages picked up by the Mackay Radio and Wireless Wireless Wire Wire- less company These reported that I the FisKe stove a hole in the engine room ot of the I Floridian which sanka sank I a fe feW minutes later The Floridian was bound from east cast coast ports for Puget Sound while the Fiske was on ono one or of her regular trips from the Sound for forSan forSan San Francisco Neither vessel carried car car- ned ried passengers
