Garth I Sorensen counselor to the group said the bright students who entered the university last fall after completing their junior year in high school earned better fall quarter grades than the average entering freshman 18 Credit Hours Carrying a load of 18 credit hours some hours some in competition with other freshmen and some in classes by themselves themselves the the Ford scholars averaged a B minus B-minus grade for fall quarter The average entering freshman earns about a plus C-plus Dr Sorensen Soren Soren- Sorensen sen pointed out which gives the theFord theFord theFord Ford scholars an edge Their grades ranged from C to minus A-minus he added None of them failed in any class Dr Sorensen reported and there were very few Ds Most of the scholars agreed with Wendy Vendy Wherritt 17 1352 Emigration St St. a former East High School student that college isn't too hard Little Harder But it was a little harder than many had expected and they were disappointed that their college college college col col- col- col lege grades were not as high as their high school grades Dr Sorensen Sorensen Sorensen Sor Sor- ensen added Many of the Ford scholars visited visited visited vis vis- vis- vis the university guidance center center center cen cen- ter for help in working out study habits he commented because they were determined to make good in their college work Dr Sorensen said the young Ford scholars did not attract too much attention as a select group and said they were accepted in extracurricular extracurricular extracurricular extra extra- curricular activities and the university's university's university's uni uni- social life |
