Show Cashiered Army Officer Gets High French Award NEW YORK. Capt. Tod H. Cohen Co-hen of Binghamton, N. Y., convicted convict-ed by a court-martial of attempting ! to establish a France-to-North Africa Af-rica smuggling ring, received France's highest decoration, the Legion Le-gion of Honor award. Captain Cohen, now assigned to army air forces' Mitchell field on Long Island pending review of his 1 case by the judge advocate general, gen-eral, received the red ribbon award j at the French embassy in Washing- ' ton in recognition of his World War I II services in the air forces. He was convicted last December ! 28 in Paris on charges of conspiring conspir-ing to set up a smuggling route for j goods from southern France to I North Africa and sentenced to dis- missal from the army, six months I confinement and forfeiture of pay : and allowances, army authoritiee said. |
