Show STATE FAIR SET FORSEPT. 4-9 The amusement side of the Utah State Fair, like the educational educa-tional side, will this year have a distinctly patriotic theme, said Sheldon R. Brewster, secretary-manager secretary-manager of the association. The booking for the grandstand show is with the C. W. Nelson Attractions Attrac-tions of Hollywood, an agency that has contracted to bring to the big six-day exposition its famed two-hour show called, "Let Freedom Ring." This spectacular performance will be presented in front of the grandstand each afternoon and evening of the fair, September 4 to 9. The presentation includes twenty brilliant acts, running the traditional gamut of thrills, acrobatics, trained animals, novelties, no-velties, beautiful girls and musical mu-sical features. Included in the acts coming to the fair are the following: Eight Hollywood Starlettes; Western Stars Combination, an act with horses and monkeys; King Tuffy, world famous moving mov-ing picture lion from the MGM studios; Cy's Dilapidated Tail-spin Tail-spin Auto in hilarious antics; Five Musical Melodists; the Par-day Par-day Sisters in comedy knockabout; knock-about; the Walter Sisters, sensational sen-sational equilibrists; the Tossing Johnsons; Darby and Ardell gymnasts; gym-nasts; Chief Sky Eagle and Princess Prin-cess Sunbeam, featuring Indian novelty acts; Aerial La Tours; and a gorgeous fireworks. Besides, thrre will be on the fair grounds a genuine Indian village. Visitors will see the Utah Piutes and Navajos living their accustomed lives, performing their handicraft and exhibiting their native ceremonials. The village will be maintained on the fair grounds through exposition week, and there will be no extra charge for this feature. The announcement that a general gen-eral gate admission fee will permit per-mit the visitor to see the grandstand grand-stand show as well as the exhibits, ex-hibits, has been acclaimed as a wise wartime innovation, said Mr. Brewster. Fifty-five cents (55c) for adults and twenty-five (25c) for children will be the to tal admission charge. |
