Show illlGHLAND BOY; Miss Milka Tomas will leave Saturday to go to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Churich of Murray, where she will spend a week visiting friends. Miss Ada Duhigg and Miss Alice Brown of the Ilighljnd Boy Community House spent Tuesday in Salt Lake City, whore they attended a faculty mooting for midsummer conference which is to be held in Mt. Pleasant from August 2 to 8. Manuel Ortego spent Tuesday i visiting in Salt Lake City. He arrived home Thursday from j Ely, Nev., where he has been I working the past three months. Lee Erazuma returned home Monday from the St. Mark's hospital hos-pital where he has been receiving receiv-ing treatments for an eye injury. He was injured at the Armstrong mine, when a blast was miss-timed, miss-timed, several months ago. He returned to work Wednesday. Miss Ollie Chanak left Saturday Satur-day for an indefinite stay in Og-den Og-den with her sister, Manda, who is employed at Hill field. Jimmy "Daisy" Valdez writes from Camp Roberts, Cal., "that the army agrees with him." He states that several fellow graduates gradu-ates are also stationed there, but "the camp is so large and we're so busy, we don't get to see each other very often. However, How-ever, we are looking forward to a week-end pass and visit some of the neighboring towns together". to-gether". Mrs. Mary Badovinatz return- ed home Thursday after spending spend-ing a week visiting with Mr. and Mrs. George .Badovinatz in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Azzelio, Mr. and Mrs. George Massa, and Mrs. George Smilanich, spent Monday in Salt Lake City, and that evening were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Fassio of Murray, Clyde Hetterick Jr., son of Mr", and Mrs. Clyde Hetterick, returned re-turned home from St- Mark's hospital where he has been receiving re-ceiving treatments for a broken collar bone. He is reported as doing fine, but must remain in bed for another two months. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Granning and Mrs. Joe Ortego spent Tuesday Tues-day shopping in Salt Lake City. Week-end visitors expected at the Highland Boy Community House this week are Miss Marie Button of Salt Lake City and the Rev. and Mrs. John Bower of Joplin, Mo. The Boy Scouts under the direction di-rection of Eli Tomas, scoutmaster, scoutmas-ter, have completed plans for their annual trip to Tracy Wigwam. Wig-wam. Those eligible to sro are: Field, but were transferred to California in June. Wednesday evening the summer sum-mer cooking classes held an outdoor out-door dinner on the Community House yard. The girls have been attending cooking classes for a week now and have two weeks more to go. They have learned indoor cooking and are now doing do-ing it out-of-doors. Those who have not enrolled, better hurry or you'll find yourself sorry! Hurry! It's fun. Summer playground plans have now been completed. Miss Marie Azzelio, playground supervisor, super-visor, states that plans have been made for primary, junior and senior young people and those married couples interested. Hours are from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for primary and junior classes and others continue from 6:30 on every week night. Records are being kept for prizes, and plans are in the making for our annual Field Day program. Come on laxy-bones, get out your old shoes and join the happy crowds at our summer playground. I'll see you there. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brimhall enjoyed a visit over the weekend week-end from their daughter, Mar-jorie, Mar-jorie, who is working at .Wend-over. .Wend-over. Mrs. G. Gates was also a visitor ot the Brimhall s over the week-end. A number of friends enjoyed I a bridge party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brimhall last Saturday evening. Prizes were presented to Warren Woodward Wood-ward and Mrs. Andrew Jones. Delicious refreshments were served to the sixteen present. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Linsley, who have been visiting Mrs-Linsley's Mrs-Linsley's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Austin left Thursday for the east coast, where Mr. Linsley Lins-ley will enter school. Vincent Miola, Daniel Shea, Milan Mi-lan and Steve Smilanich, Chano Rubalcava and John Arko. Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Chavez and children, David and Sarah, of Murray spent Sunday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Ortego. Or-tego. Sunday evening church services serv-ices at the Highland Boy Community Com-munity House are being planned plan-ned by the Questers. Special numbers and worship selections will be held. Mildred Muhar, president, urges everyone to attend at-tend and enjoy these special services. Christine and Mary Valdez of Pleasantent, Cal., write they find their work interesting and state that they like California. They were formerly employed at Hill |
