Smith president o of the he L. L D. D S. S church from front 1901 to 1918 died at her residence real resi- dence University street Friday at a. a It m. m after a long illness Mrs Smith was a member of th the general board of the L. L D D. S. S Relief Relief Relief Re Re- lief society from October 1892 t to April 1921 and a charter member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers She was vas one of f four ur wives of oC th the late Joseph S. S S Smith Ith Mrs Smith was born In Salt Lake Lak City June 18 1849 a daughter o of 01 Alfred Allred Boaz and Melissa June Bigler Lambson pioneers of oC 1847 18 From early childhood Mrs Smith lived with an uncle the late George Georg A. A Smith L. L D. D S. S church historian in whose office she met her husband husband hus hus- band who was then an office clerk The couple were married in 1866 Eleven children were born to th the union nine of whom are still living For many- many years Mrs Smith wa was president of the Retrenchment society so so- organized in June 1870 Mrs Smith as an ordinance worker work work- er cr in the theold old Endowment house was was' among among- the first workers called call cd to the L.
