Show WOMEN'S GROUP WILL SPONSOR SCHOLARSHIP A discussion, "Hints on Keeping Keep-ing Healthy", by Mrs. James W. Bingham, was given for information inform-ation and entertainment of Women's Wo-men's Civic club members meeting meet-ing the evening of January 20 at the home of Mrs. E. V. Knudsen Knud-sen of Copperton. Mrs. Don Reid, president, called upon Mrs. S. T. Nerdin for the prayer and Mrs. Roland Warner to lead singing. A girls' trio, Shirley Parkin, Beverly Nix and Jenna Vee 01-sen, 01-sen, presented three numbers, "In My Arms", "Put Your Arms Around Me Honey" and "Say a Prayer for the Boys Over There". A communication from the president of the Utah State Federation Fed-eration of Women's clubs, Mrs. J. H. Peckenpaugh of Ogden, read by the secretary, Mrs. Rex Mills, told of the success of the women's clubs' bond drive in November. Clubwomen went over ov-er the top ($300,000) by nearly 15 thousand dollars. Miss Gloria Rich, formerly assistant as-sistant field director for the JRed Cross at Kearns, wrote the Civic club in appreciation of the Christmas Christ-mas tree decorations and presents pres-ents sent by club members for Kearns hospital. All wards were decorated and each patient received re-ceived a gift, Miss Rich reported. Women's Civic club will make application to the Community Chest for $125 to complete the 1943 scholarship and $250 for the 1944 scholarship for a student nurse. Delicious refreshments were served to 17 members and one guest by Mrs. Knudsen and Mrs. R. J. Smith. |
