Show MEAT PURCHASES FROM FARMERS TO BE PAIDJN STAMPS To assist farmers in marketing supplies of fresh meat, particularly particu-larly pork, the OPA has validated validat-ed advance use of stamps in war ration book four, Francis J.. Quinn, community service member mem-ber of the Bingham war price and rationing board announced today. Red stamps in book four num-i num-i bered "8" from letters "A" through "M", 12 stamps in all, the board member said, have been given a value of ten points each and may be used to purchase purch-ase fresh meat from a farm slaughterer only, not a retailer. Brown stamps in book three valid until February 27 may also al-so be spent in one block when buying rationed meat from a farmer. The value of these brown stamps will be that stamped on their face and is not increased as in the case of the red stamps in book four. OPA has always provided that meat stamps in any ration book could be used in advance of the validity dates for purchases from farm slaughterers. |
