Show CITY COUNCIL MET WEDNESDAY Dog days are in August but collection of fees on all canines within the city limits of Bingham Bing-ham Canyon is an occurrence slated annually shortly after the first of the year. In other words, the time is now and the collector approved by the city officials is John T. Bird of Salt Lake City. He will, make house to house calls ir the near future and collect $1.50 for each male, $2.50 for each female dog. No threats have been issued, but it is understood that if a purp does not have a license, a dog's life in some far away pound will be its lot. City councilmen ' Wednesday discussed generally what to do about the remains of the old school building adjacent to the Civic Center. The offer made by the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Com-merce, to tear down the walls now standing and haul away debris, de-bris, is regarded with favor. Tentative, Ten-tative, plans call for erection of a city garage and storage building build-ing on the site. It was reported that the roadway road-way in Mark ham, damaged by a recent flood, has been tcmprar-ily tcmprar-ily repaired and will be put in good condition as soon as weather weath-er permits. Utah Copper company is taking care of repairs. A uniform curfew ordinance being sponsored by Salt Lake county was discussed. If the city adopts the suggested ' ordinance ii will be necessary to modify the present regulations. The county wants to prohibit children of ages 7-14 from appearing ap-pearing on the streets after 10 p.m. and to make minors of aes 14-18 stay at home after midnight. |
