Show HEALTH DEPARTMENT REPORTS TO COUNCIL In the future persons requesting request-ing city applications. ,tq operate, drink and food dispensing businesses busi-nesses will have their places of business inspected by the city health and lire departments before be-fore licenses will be granted, it was decided by the city council Wednesday night. A report for the city health department, made by Dr. F. E. Straup, listed 15 cases of chicken pox, six cases of measles and one case of mumps as contagious diseases reported during December Decem-ber 1942. There were no fatalities fatali-ties from contagious diseases. Dr. Straup said that local beer parlors were recently inspected and all cautioned to. be more careful in use of sterilizing solutions solu-tions for drinking glasses. Two local eating places, Maril-lyn Maril-lyn cafe and Pastime Inn, are undergoing renovation .and repair. re-pair. Both will be inspected by the local health officer before they reopen. Application of John Vietti for a beer license was approved. Bills amounting to $867.58 were approved for payment. Lawrence E. West was named to care for fire sirens. A $10 fee a month is paid by the city 'for this service. r |
