OCR Text Hel Helping ping the Horn Homemaker NOODLES AND CHICKEN Menu Chicken and Noodles Buttered Cabbage Bread Plum Jam Head Lettuce Russian Dressing Pecan Cream Pic Pie Coffee Milk for the Children Chicken and Noodles Serving Six Four tablespoons butter flutter 6 table spoons flour 2 cups milk 1 l cup chick chick- chicken en stock 3 tablespoons chopped cooked green pepper l 3 1 3 cup chopped cooked celer celery 2 tablespoons chopped pimentos 1 tablespoon chopped onion 1 teaspoon salt sal 4 1 teaspoon paprika 1 12 2 cups diced cooked chicken hicken Melt butter and add Blend and add milk and stock Cook until creamy reamy sauce forms Add rest of ingredients in and cook two minutes Pour our over noodles which have been arranged on serving platter and garnish gar nish with parsley If chicken stock stockIs stocks Is s not available canned chicken soup or milk can be used Noodles I Three cups broken noodles 2 quarts water 2 teaspoons salt saIL Mix salt and water Boil and slowly slowly slow- slow ly y add noodles Boll Boil vigorously 12 minutes Drain and serve If much chicken stock is available It can be used for boiling bolling noodles in and then it t can be used in the sauce mixture The noodles can be reheated repeated in mod trod crate oven Pecan Cream Pie One baked pie 12 2 cup sug sugar r 4 tablespoons ta ta- flour 18 8 teaspoon salt 3 egg yolks 2 cups milk 1 l teaspoon va va- nilla 2 tablespoons butter 12 2 cup eup broken pecans Blend sugar flour and salt Add yolks and milk Cook until creamy In n double boiler Stir frequently Add vanilla butter and pecans Pour into nto baked pie shell Cover with me mc Meringue Three egg whites 5 tablespoons con con- sugar Beat whites and add sugar Beat until creamy Roughly spread over filling mUng Bake Eake 12 minutes in moderately moderate moderate- I Iy ly slow oven This makes an excellent excellent excel excel- lent company dessert and can b be spread with whipped cream in place of meringue
