r THE INCOME IE TAX BENEFITS accruing to the state of Utah from the new Income tax already have become apparent It Is announced with ultra-solemn ultra dignity at the capitol that as a Result of the timely arrival of taxes the state wont won't have to borrow any more money until uly This Is a tribute to the financial wizardry of kf all those state officials from the governor down own lawmakers lawmakers' and others who had anything anything anything any any- thing whatsoever to do with getting the people people peo peo- pie Into the humor of ot amending the constitution constitution so that a part of them at least could Step forth punctually and pay Income tax money If all the available taxpayers income-taxpayers in inthe inthe inthe the state instead of only a part had responded respond respond- ed promptly and generously it might have been found unnecessary to borrow additional money until August or perhaps until Sep Sep- Our political subdivisions have existed for BO so many years upon borrowed money that when the financial structure is bolstered to any extent where borrowing is found Unnecessary unnecessary unnecessary un un- necessary even for a few months It is promptly written down as a great triumph lor for the political financiers who run the state Naturally it is not to be expected that the state government can get along throughout an entire year without the necessity of borrowing borrowing borrowing bor bor- rowing money unless more people pay more money in taxes plus filing fees If the people people peo peo- pie of the state therefore came through lIberally lib liberally lIb lIb- and unanimously no fund might be juggled juggled Juggled Jug jug- no money borrowed at all Now that the thousands of taxpayers who disregarded the Income tax and th the filing flUng fee understand the utility of it they may come across voluntarily without putting the state to the additional trouble and e expense Pense of them to up For the money which was paid in under the new law paid off loans and left enough over to run the state for a brief period atthe atthe at atthe the end of which the old practice is to be resumed Of course If U any private individual or Interest in interest in- in terest attempted terest-attempted attempted to io operate on the same basis bankruptcy or worse would be the inevitable ble bler r result
