Show BOY SUFFERS INJURIES IN FREAK ACCIDENT One 12-year-old boy can speak with authority on the hazards of "braking on the railroad". Far-rell Far-rell Jarrad, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Jarrad of 265 Main street, with two younger friends, Barre Hutchings, 8, and Dennis Mc-Neely, Mc-Neely, 8, was playing on a D & R G W box car on the Railroad avenue siding, and accidentally let the brake off. Dennis was safely on the ground and Barre halfway down the side when the car began traveling tra-veling at gathering speed toward the derailment switch. As the box car plunged from the rails onto the soil, Farrell was trown to the ground, breaking his right arm and leg. He said, ruefully, that he was celebrating his recent re-cent recovering and release from a sling, for a broken right arm. |
