Show LOCAL C. A. P UNIT HAS FINE ORGANIZATION Local C. A. P. instruction is being be-ing received with enthusiasm by a large group of young people anxious anxi-ous to become better acquainted with the coming method of transportation trans-portation and to be better prepared for whatever air service offers in the future. There is yet room for a limited number of cadets for training in the local unit. The organization in Springville was effected last October, and since then meetings have been conducted regularly each Wednesday Wednes-day at the high school, where instructions in-structions in first aid, code, military mili-tary drill, are given and other pre-flight pre-flight tactics are learned. Frank Berrett is warrant officer offi-cer in charge of training. The organization or-ganization is under direction of Lt. Verl Whiting, Lt. Deal Mendenhall Menden-hall and Lt. Ralph Child, who are attached to the Provo quadron, Utah Wing. The local C. A. P. unit recently took third place in a Utah marching march-ing contest in which more than 20 units participated, and also, they took third place in a state marching march-ing contest in which a large number num-ber of units took part. |
