Show Mapleton Outlines Plans For July 24 Fete M. I. A. To Be In Charge Of Program Which Includes Concessions, Sports, Bathing Beauty Contest And Other Events Mapleton is planning a big celebration in observance of Pioneer Pio-neer Day, July 24, it was announced Wednesday. An invitation is extended to townspeople and those of surrounding communities to join them in the various events outlined for the day's entertainment. The Mutual Improvement Association Asso-ciation of Mapleton is sponsoring the program and has outlined a full day's entertainment for the holiday. A large corps of committee commit-tee chairmen and assistments has been appointed to take charge of the various events. Concessions will open at 9 a. m., at the Park. At 11 a. m., there will be a program, lasting until noon. Visiting and lunch are scheduled for the time from 12 noon until 2 p m., when races and calf riding will be featured. From 3 until 4 p. m., there will be a fish pond open, together with other entertainment en-tertainment for boys and girls. A, band concert is scheduled for 4 p. m., to 5 p. m., and following that will be a Bathing Beauty contest, and during the latter event there will be an exhibition of life-saving and expert diving. A ball game is announced for 6 p. m., and roller skating is planned plan-ned for 8 p. m., to 12 midnight. The swimming pool will be open at 12 noon and throughout the remainder re-mainder of the day. Committee members appointed for the various events include Mrs. Marie Stone, Mrs. Lenore Bills, Mrs. Louise Nelson, LaVell Bird, Donald Hall and Harold Diamond, concessions. Mrs. Lois Rasmussen, Glenn Holley, Marie Johnson, Roy Johnson, John-son, Mrs. Mary Diamond, Murrell Cox, Anna Mae Bird, program. Fay Jensen, Spencer Mackley, Ralph Harmer, Joseph Wiscombe, Elmer Wiscomb, Brian Tew, races and calf riding exhibition.
