First, while Sixth was defeated two points by Second. Holding down second spot in the team standings is the strong First Warders, who lost to Sixth and Fifth. Third, with 3 wins and 3 lasses, is in third spot at the halfway half-way mark. Fifth ward is in fourth place and both Mapleton and Fourth are on the bottom with 1 win and 5 losses. Week's Results . . . Minus two -of their regulars, Second Ward continued its winning streak with a surprisingly easy win over Fourth, 29-16, after holding hold-ing high scoring Ray Clark of the Fourth scoreless in the first half and allowing him to collect only 7 points. Groesbeck, Childs and Bramall scored most consistently for the winners. Clark was high for the losers. The feature game of the evening eve-ning was a ding-dong battle between be-tween Sixth and Third, with Sixth emerging victoriously 23-18 after the lead had changed hands several sever-al times. Third held a 6-5 advantage advan-tage at the end of the first quarter quar-ter and Sixth pulled ahead one point at the half. Third came out in front 18-15 at the third quarter mark, but failed to score in the final canto. Williams ' was high point getter for Sixth and played a nice defensive game, holding Teasdale to 7 points, which was high for the losers. Miner, for the Third, and Richins for the Sixth, were missing from the lineups. In another cjose game Fifth defeated de-feated the Mapleton club, 32-28, in the final game of the evening. Black for the Fifth kept the hoop ringing with 14 points. Diamond and P. Jensen, with 11 and 10 points, scored most of the loser's points. Competition has sharpened up considerably as the first half of league play has progressed and is very keen.
