Show PREP TOURNEY OPENS TODAY IN SALT LAKE Sixteen Teams Vie For Honors In Class A and B Meet; l'rovo, Wasatch Early Favorites Jordan and Box Elder high school cagera will pry the lid off the 1943 Class A basketball tournament tour-nament today In the Deseret Cym, Salt Lake City, at 1 p. rn. Spanish Fork and Richfield court adepts will open the B class meet at 2 p. m. The tournament boasts 16 of the strongest teams in the state with both Cla.ss A and Class B champions of last year back in the meet again this year, hoping to retain re-tain the coveted trophy. These two schools are Provo and Wasatch high of Heber. Both are highly favored to repeat last year's performance. per-formance. Other tourney favorites in class A are: Granite and South Cache. B teams who appear to be strong opponents for the Wasatch favorites favor-ites are American Fork and Murray. Mur-ray. Spanish Fork, while not so strong as last year's club, may go a long way if Joe Nelson can cut loose as he has done in league play. The tournament will wind up Saturday night with both A and B champions being crowned.
