Show LOCAL YOUTH WINS STATE POPPY POSTER CONTEST It is something to win in a town in the state that is really something some-thing and it is exactly what Hilton Hall has done. Son of Sheriff and Mrs. Theron S. Hall, Hilton took first place in the American Legion Auxiliary sponsored poppy poster contest. The poster was judged during the recent state convention of the Legion Leg-ion and Auxiliary held at Ogden. Competition was keen in both contests with a large number of junior high school students entering enter-ing in the local event and the best from each town competing for state honors "Crutches To Life", was the theme of the poster which Hilton designed with the crutches made of red poppies. It was an attractive attract-ive piece of work in the opinion of all who saw it and exhibited considerable con-siderable artistic ability according to the judges. . Mrs. Hazel Roylance, chairman of the Springville poppy poster contest presented the winner with his check from the state. He previously pre-viously received A check from the local Legion Auxiliary in recognition recog-nition of his efforts in the Springville Spring-ville contest. |
